2014 Spike Lee Film Production Fund Winner

2013 Student Academy Awards Semifinalist

2013 First Run Film Festival Award for Acting

SYNOPSIS: Months after the case against the hotel guest who assaulted her is dismissed, housekeeper Aissatou Bah struggles to pick up the pieces. Plagued by flashbacks, how will she rebuild a life for herself and her daughter? How will she find justice and her lost dignity?

UPDATE: Thanks to our fiscal sponsor, Fractured Atlas, and all the Indiegogo donors who made this short film possible. In 2012, I ran a fundraising campaign for a short film that I directed, formerly called The People v. Aissatou Ba, named Aissa's Story. I'm now screening the short at festivals to raise money for a feature-length version of the film.

Since screening at the 2013 Student Academy Awards semifinals, I have begun pre-production on the feature for my NYU Grad Film thesis. Thanks to the Spike Lee Film Production Fund for supporting the feature.
